Watermelon Pointillism Art
Pointillism is way to painting by adding dots of color to a piece of art. Together these dots create an image. Your child can be an artist by using this painting technique to create these summer watermelons. Change the painting tool and paint color to change the color of the paint you are using to allow your child to make their watermelon the way they want. What I love most about this is it uses simple supplies so, your child can create multiple if they want!
Supplies:
- Paper plate
- Green, red, pink and black paint
- painting tools ( sponge dotter brush, q-tips or pencil eraser)
Directions:
- Prepare paint colors your child would like to use and provide a paint tool. You can even provide all three and let them choose.
- Start by creating the rind of the watermelon by using green around the edge of the paper plate.
- Add pink or red paint to create the middle of the fruit. Add black for seeds as well.
This is such a quick, fun summer craft. I love effect created with the pointillism technique.
