Squid Name

Squid Name
When completed your child can practice writing their name

Create this cute squid and give your child some practice writing their name. Ocean animals are always a fun summer activity to create. There are so many possibilities, this squid is a great way for your child to be creative in picking the colors of the paint and yarn as well. Encourage your child to be creative in their design.

Supplies:

  1. Watercolor paint, markers or crayons
  2. Yarn
  3. Marker
  4. Scissors
  5. Gluestick
  6. Squid print out ( I recommend printing on white cardstock)

Directions:

  1. Print out squid. Use watercolor paint, crayons or markers to color the squid and the circles. The circle will be used to create the tentacles and spell your child's name. You will only need that many circles.
  1. Cut out the pieces after the watercolor paint dries.
Arrange all supplies to get ready to assemble.
  1. Attach yarn to the back of the larger triangle using a gluestick. Wait for the glue to dry before continuing.
  1. Glue the smaller triangle to the top of the larger triangle.
  1. Glue the eyes at the bottom of the larger triangle. Then glue the circles to the bottom of the yarn to create the tentacles.
  1. Lastly, have your child write the letters of their name, one on each circle.
