Sparkle Fish

This craft is inspired by the book "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister. I always loved the sparkles on rainbow fish. Encourage your child to make this fish, but to also recognize their own beauty and the beauty in others. The story is about a vain fish who isolates himself by feeling better than all around him. He soon finds friendship by giving away a sparkle to friends. I think this book can be a great way to discuss with children how to cherish and love their own amazing talents and beauty without isolating others.

Create this sparkly fish by gluing sequin onto a cardstock paper fish. This activity involves cutting, squeezing liquid glue and picking up small sequin. These are great ways to strengthen fine motor skills.
Supplies:
- Elmer's glue
- Sequin
- Scissors
- Fish cutout template
Directions:
- Cut out fish and pick out sequin of choice.

- Place a small amount of glue to each scale on the fish. To prevent making a mess with glue, I suggest keeping the cap halfway closed. This will prevent too much glue from coming out. Don't worry about excess glue because it will dry clear when completed.

Continue gluing until you place sequin on each scale.
- Continue gluing until all scales have a sequin on them.
