Sloth Handprint Craft

After reading a book create this adorable sloth handprint craft. Handprint crafts are the best because you get to capture your child's size at that moment. It is always fun to look back at their tiny handprint as they grow older.
So, to begin have your child trace their handprint on a piece of brown paper.
Next, use light brown and brown to create a head for your sloth. Simply draw a smaller oval on light brown paper. Next, use this as a template to create a larger brown oval. Then simply glue the smaller oval on top of the larger one. I like to utilize scraps of paper I have for this project since you will not need a full sheet of paper. Even use the scraps you have leftover from cutting out the handprint. I find it best to keep any useable scraps in a container for later use when I am making crafts.
After, have your child glue the head on the handprint. Place it right on top of the thumb. This will leave four fingers which will create the arms and legs of the sloth.
Now, use some of the scraps you have saved to draw small details to the sloth's face. Cut them out and glue them onto the sloth's face.
Glue the small shapes you cut out onto the sloth's face.
Now, use a black marker or crayon to add two small circles as eyes. Add these to the shapes you just glued to the sloth's face. Now add a nose and mouth to complete his face.
How adorable is this little sloth!
Now choose a background paper, you can choose any color you wish. Next, take a piece of scrap brown paper, tear it to create a natural look for the tree branch for the sloth. Glue it near on the paper and then glue the sloth onto the paper. Be sure to place the sloth so it's arms and legs look like it is hanging from the tree branch.
Sloth is now hanging from the tree branch.
