Raking Leaves

Raking Leaves
Make a pile of raked leaves with your child this fall.

I love when Fall come around, there is so much to enjoy. Cool air, apple picking, pumpkin patches, hot drinks and leaves. Oh, how the leaves fall in my backyard, we have many oak trees and we always have a lot of leaves to clean up. It is fun to get our kids involved in helping to rake leaves into piles. Jumping in those leaf piles is even more fun!

How about creating art to show this leaf raking? This simple craft is easy to recreate with a few supplies.

Supplies:

  1. Leaves ( I purchased leaves from Walmart ) or use the leaf template I have provided.
  2. Construction paper for background.
  3. Scrap paper
  4. Glue Stick
  5. Scissors

Directions:

  1. Prepare leaves. I purchased this leaf garland from Walmart. I pulled off a few leaves and cut the plastic stems off.
  1. Use a glue stick to glue the leaves to a piece of background paper. Create a pile of leaves
  1. Next, create handle for the rake. Cut a piece of paper into a long rectangle shape and glue above the leaves.
  1. Next, use a gray piece of paper cut several strips to create the rake. Bend each piece to make it look like the rake end. Glue each piece into place on top of the leaves.
  1. After, cut another piece of green paper to put across the pieces of gray at the bottom of the rake.

You can also use the leaf template provided. Color and cut our leaves in fall colors. Then create a rake they same as described above.
