Pom Pom Painting
Use pom poms to let your child paint their own masterpiece

Paint is an important material for your child to work with. Give your child opportunities to explore with paint can allow them the chance for problem solving and exploration of materials. Give your child time, space, freedom and adult encouragement. Pom poms are not a typical painting tool. Attach them to clothespins for better control and less mess. Allow your child to create any kind of art they want. You child may create an abstract piece or a detailed painting. Be available with multiple sheets of paper of various colors until your child is finished working.

Supplies:

  1. Paint
  2. Pom poms of various sizes and textures
  3. Clothespins
  4. Variety of paper ( colors, sizes and shapes)

Instructions:

I suggest preparing your materials and setting up a workspace before showing your child the paint. I remember doing this activity with my son, we sat at the kitchen table, which I covered in wrapping paper to protect the table. You may also want to dress your child in play clothes to avoid ruining clothes.
