Paper Plate Turkey
Thanksgiving time is a great time to make easy crafts with your kids. It is always fun to take some family time around the holidays and what is more fun than using paint to make a turkey?
Directions:
- Start with a white paper plate. I like to use thin, inexpensive ones they are easy to craft with. Select the colors of paint you would like to use and get some Q-tips for painting.
- Cut out a turkey body for use later. I chose to also use googly eyes, but feel free to use a marker to make the eyes as well. You will also need a small piece of red or yellow scrap paper for the beak and a piece of red paper for the wattle.
- Use Q-tips to randomly place dots all over the paper plate. Allow the paint to dry before moving on to the next step.
- Add the googly eyes to the turkey. You can also use a marker to add eyes as well.
- Then, use a piece of orange paper. Draw a diamond shape on the paper and cut out. Fold the diamond in half and add glue to the bottom half and add to the turkey.
- Use a scrap piece of red paper to create a wattle. I literally just drew a blob on the paper and cut out. Glue the wattle next to the beak.
- Last, glue your turkey body you have made to the middle of the plate. Add this somewhere in your home to decorate for Thanksgiving.
