Moon Dough

Creating a mixture with simple items is not only a inexpensive way to have fun with kids, but it also is a hands on way experience to show kids how 2 ingredients mix together to create something totally different. Kinds will love creating this moon dough! They will be amazed as they watch the powdery cornstarch combine with the liquid conditioner to make a squishy dough for play.
This moon dough combines cornstarch and conditioner ( I purchased mine from the Dollar Tree) making the total cost around $4 and I have plenty of both ingredients left over!
To start add 1 cup of cornstarch to a bowl. Let kids help, this may be a little messy, but it is an easy cleanup.

Measure and add 1 cup on cornstarch to a bowl.
Now, measure 1/2 cup of hair conditioner. You can use any kind, I found this bottle at the Dollar Tree. Keep in mind that your moon dough will be the color of the conditioner and it will also have a nice smell.

Add the conditioner to the cornstarch
Now, use your hands to combine the cornstarch and conditioner together. Continue to mix until it forms a soft dough. If the mixture is too wet, sprinkle in some extra cornstarch. In the end your will have a fun moon dough. You can also add some food coloring if you would like to change the color of the moon dough. You can make several colors and allow your child to enjoy creating.
