Handprint Flamingo Craft

Handprint Flamingo Craft
Create this adorable flamingo with just 1 piece of paper.

Create this flamingo from just one piece of paper! I love easy crafts that are simple to make. I created this from simple drawings, notice how the head looks like the letter J. The body is a handprint and I simply used the scraps of paper I had to create the legs and feet. I have included my drawings if you would like to trace them or print on pink paper. However, I encourage you to see what your child may be capable of creating by looking at mine for inspiration or seeing what they might create on their own.

Supplies:

  1. Pink construction paper
  2. Markers ( these sharpie markers are perfect for crafts)
  3. Glue stick
  4. Flamingo Tracer

Instructions:

  1. Cut your pink paper in half and trace your hand on one half of the paper. Cut out after, this is great practice for your child and it is okay if it is not perfect. You can certainly help them cut it out if they need your help.
  1. Take the fingers of the handprint and roll them and unroll them to create the look of the feathers.
  1. Use the scraps of paper from the handprint to cut two strips of paper to use for the legs of the flamingo.
  1. Glue to the pink legs to the handprint to create the legs. Cut one leg in half to create the flamingo's stance.
  1. Use the other half of the pink paper to create a head for your flamingo. I drew mine in the shape of the letter J. I have included a template if you would like to use.
Sketch out the shape of the flamingo's head. Use a real picture of a flamingo for an example.
  1. Draw details using markers on the face of the flamingo.
  1. Create 2 feet for the flamingo and glue to the feet of the flamingo.
