If your child has not experienced seeing or interacting with a horse, why not arrange an experience. It is easy to find opportunities to visit a farm or to even go on a pony or horse ride.
To begin, print out the template on colored cardstock or construction paper.

Next, have your child cut out the pieces. Allow your child to try to do the cutting on their own. The lines are thick to allow for mistakes. Cutting with scissors is a great skill for improving fine motor skills.

Next, glue the mouth to the bottom of the head.

Now, glue the mane to the side of the horse's head. You can then add the eyes onto the top part of the head of the horse. Allow your child to color the eyes any color they choose.
