DIY Valentine's Love sign

Valentine's Day is a great time to decorate your home with hearts. Celebrate Valentine's Day be decorating your home. This sign was created using a sign I purchased on clearance. I often like to buy things when they are a great price and save them for a future craft.
So to begin, you have to prepare the sign. I decided to remove the image on it, since I was not sure if I was going to paint the background. Some of these signs have a thin paper background. Simply make sure some of the paper is peeled back. Then spray with water and allow to sit a bit. Then scrap off the paper with a metal or plastic scraper.

Remove the background and allow the wood to dry.
I decided to cover my background with a piece of paper, so I cut a piece of scrapbook paper to size. Then, glue it to the background of the frame.

Cover you r background with paint or paper.
I used my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine to cut out the word "Love" on black vinyl. This can also be handwritten or even printed on your background paper before gluing it in.

Position the vinyl in the corner of the frame.
I then painted some small wood hearts with red acrylic paint. I then hot glued these onto the frame. I placed these first to make sure I like the placement before gluing.

The red pairs well with the white and black background.
Last, I glued a coordinating piece of ribbon along the bottom of the frame.

Glue a piece of ribbon and cut off excess.
