Bubble Wrap Corn
Make some colorful corn to decorate your home or table for Thanksgiving. Rainbow corn is popular around the fall season. It was created by cross breeding several kinds of corn to get the rainbow shape. It is not the same as the sweet corn we are used to eating. It can however be ground into cornmeal and popped into popcorn. It will not be rainbow colored when popped. You will often see this in grocery stores with pumpkins and ornamental squashes.
Let your child create their own rainbow corn, they can choose any combination of colors they wish. To create this rainbow corn you will need the corn template, bubble wrap, a brown paper bag and paint.
Directions:
- Pick out paint color you would like to use. Next, apply the paint to the bubble wrap. I used a Q tip to spread the paint around on the bubble wrap.
- Take your corn template that you printed and press it into the painted bubble wrap.
- Allow the paint to dry completely and then cut out the corn pieces.
- Use a brown paper bag to create corn husks to attach to the rainbow corn.
- Attach the corn husks you have created to the top of the rainbow corn. Roll the corn pieces down.
