Aquarium Sensory Bag

This sensory bag is perfect for explore senses and imagination. Sensory bags allow your child to feel and see all the movement in the bag. Encourage your child to explore their imagination by telling a story about the animals in the bag or retelling a story you have read together.

These skills are important pre reading skills and will help your reader increase their comprehension and writing skills. Play is so important in early childhood. However, don't forget to interact with your child. Guide their learning with questions.

• What are the animals names?
• Where are they?
• What is happening?
• What happened after that?
• Are the characters having a problem?
• Tell me how it ends.

Also consider adding stickers and items that go along with a specific book about ocean animals. Here are some 10 Awesome books about ocean animals that are favorite stories about the ocean.

Supplies:

1. Ziploc Bag
2. Shampoo or hair gel ( I purchased from the Dollar Tree) Can use any color
3. Ocean Animal Craft Stickers
4. Optional Add ins:  pom poms, pony beads, sequin, or buttons.

Instructions:

1. You will first need to prepare the Ziploc bag. Use some nail polish remover to remove the writing off the Ziploc bag. You will want the bag to be clear so your child can see everything in the bag.

2. Next, fill the Ziploc bag with the blue shampoo. You can add much as you wish.

3. Add in as many animal craft foam stickers as you wish. You can also add in any optional add ins you would like. I suggest pom poms, pony beads, sequin, or buttons.

4. Let you child explore as they touch and move the items in the bag around.

5. Don't forget to guide their learning with questions.

• Are the characters having a problem?
• Tell me how it ends.

6. You can also extend your child's learning by reading a book for you child to retell or move the stickers as you read.
