Angel Craft

Angel Craft
Use a coffee filter to create this angel for the Christmas season.

Create some angels to add to your home decorations this year at Christmas. Your child will love to create these beautiful angels that are easy to make. To make a traditional looking angel, you can use a white, round coffee filter. You can also make a variety of angels using cupcake liners. Cupcake liners offer a variety of color and patterns. Offer your child a variety of choices and let them decide.

Supplies:

  1. Cupcake liner or coffee filter
  2. piece of paper, any color of choice
  3. yellow or gold pipe cleaner
  4. gold glitter glue
You can use a coffee filter or cupcake liner to create your angel.

Directions:

  1. Create a face by tracing a circular object in your home or by simply drawing a circle. I used a playdough container and felt it was the perfect size for the angel's face. You can add a picture of your child to the face or draw a face on if you would like.
Make sure the circle is the right fit for the wings.
  1. Cut a rectangle to use as the angel's body. Glue to the head on top of the rectangle.
Glue head to the body you have created.
  1. Cut a triangle shape to use for the arms. I folded mine in half to create dimension. Then, glue them to the side of the angel's body as arms.
Add the triangles to the angel's body.
  1. Use a half a pipe cleaner to create a halo. Twist it into the letter P and then tilt the circular part forward. Glue the halo behind the head and then glue the body to the coffee filter or cupcake liner.
  1. Finally, use glitter glue to decorate the angel. This is optional and can also be decorated with markers if your child chooses.
Use glitter glue or markers to add details to the angel.

Alternatively, you can create a smaller angel using a cupcake liner. You can also choose any color paper you choose. Consider using scrapbook paper for the body as another option.
